In the Household category, we test everything that can make life a little easier. Vacuum or wiping robots, smart home devices and the like are tested here for quality and, above all, benefit. Can the products keep what they promise and represent added value for the average consumer? We'll find out.
We have to admit that this testing area captivated us more than we initially thought. With our series of tests on suction robots, we were able to determine how far advanced this area, which is new to us, is. So there are no longer any simple chips that are operated with two AAA batteries. On the contrary, very sophisticated software that is operated by powerful lithium-ion batteries can be found more and more frequently.
In addition, the smart home area is an incredibly growing field. Tomorrow's household will no longer resemble today's. Quite normal things like switching lights or heating on and off will be taken over by machines in a few generations.
But don't worry: Another result of our tests in the household area is that there will probably not be a changing of the guard between humans and robots in the next few decades. Ideally, all devices are fully designed for intuitive operation and targeted functions. Even if smart home devices are really very smart, it's still us humans who have to run the household. Willy-nilly.
