MEDION MD 16192

The MEDION robot hoover has a lot to offer. So he delivers one very good suction power im Vacuum robot test, but it also has a few shortcomings. The Housing made of plastic and rubber partly explains the low price, which means that the MD 16192 does not have to hide from the competition. Above all, the suction power and the low volume are convincing. In our test, we let the MEDION master the course set up for this purpose and are presenting the results in detail below. Absurdly good for the price, even if there is no system in the implementation. The suction power is very satisfactory.

Best performance but no system

As the title already suggests, the MEDION MD 16192 finished third in terms of suction power. The value was surprisingly good. This is absolutely surprising for the low price and the competition can learn a lesson from the little white robot in this area. It sucks very thoroughly over the side brushes and no more dust grains can be found afterwards. What's a bit strange is the system in implementation.

Because in our eyes there is simply none. While other models systematically drive off the surface, the Medion simply drives wildly through the area and sucks up where it is currently paving a path. This is unfavorable because you cannot rely on empirical values ​​in terms of suction time per room. He always chooses a new path, which sometimes makes it longer and sometimes shorter. In addition, it can sometimes unfortunately happen that the missing system causes it to bump into its charging station and, accordingly, can no longer dock properly after vacuuming. However, this is rarely the case and for this price, the MEDION is a true price-performance miracle! The MD 16192 mastered the obstacles set up without any problems and did not knock anything over.

101,91 grams at 62,6 decibels

If you buy a vacuum robot, you have to pay attention to two important things: the suction capacity and the volume. After all, the robot is supposed to contribute to relaxation and has to work accordingly quietly. For this reason, we measured the volume of the robots in dB and can state across all models that none of the vacuum cleaners are particularly loud. The MEDION MD 16192 is also completely on target with 62,6 decibels and is not overly annoying with a loud noise.

The capacity test finished second with 101,91 grams ingested. So out of the 140 grams of dust and "dirt" it left only 39 grams, which is a very satisfying result. The decisive factor for this result is the powerful 20 watt suction motor with 1300 rpm ("revolutions per minute"/ "revolutions per minute"). This means that animal hair is absolutely no problem for the MEDION. The motor is powered by a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 2300 mAh. As a result, the vacuum cleaner lasts around 80 minutes, which is also a satisfactory result, but longer runtimes are achieved compared to competing models. Because of this and the lack of a system, the MD 16192 sometimes does not always manage a complete floor in one pass. The charging time is within four hours. This criterion was not weighted so heavily in the test, since the robot is usually not used every four hours anyway, which means that the charging time is irrelevant to a certain extent.

No timer but simple operation

Furthermore, one must of course state that the low price is also noticeable when it comes to operation. The MEDION MD 16192 has a remote control and can be programmed, but there is no app. Well, you don't necessarily need an app, but that would make the settings easier to see. So you have to be satisfied with a remote control that can be used to operate the robot easily. The settings can also be made on the top of the MEDION, but this is a lot more comfortable with the remote control. The MD 16192 starts at the push of a button or at a set time, which is of course mandatory for vacuum robots.

Three modes can be set via the remote control, according to which the vacuum cleaner sucks differently: "Automatic" is the obstacle-dependent standard cleaning. The system is not visible here, but on our test area the MEDION vacuumed every stain at least once after a certain period of time. Mode 2 is "Spot cleaning" for the targeted cleaning of an area around the starting point of the vacuum robot. A really big difference to mode 1 cannot really be seen, except that the robot does not go beyond a certain radius around the station. The third mode is “cleaning along the wall”. As the name suggests, the MD 16192 only stays along the edge and completely ignores free spaces.

The complexity of the installation is very simple. You can almost say there are none, the robot is ready to use. A light barrier ("virtual wall") is included in the scope of delivery to allow the MEDION to focus on a surface. This is the only "installation" that can be described as such, apart from inserting the batteries into the remote control.

Cleaning is also very pleasant and easy. The 0,3 liter dust container is integrated into the robot, which means that a bag is no longer needed. This is not only more practical, but also more environmentally friendly. To empty, the MD 16192 simply has to be lifted up briefly.

Overall great for the price

So many positive aspects can be mentioned. Above all, of course, the strong suction power, which means that animal hair or fluff in the carpet are no problem for the MEDION MD 16192. The volume is also pleasant. On the other hand, the vacuum cleaner leaves a bit of a feather in terms of battery life and the implementation system. He drives wildly from edge to edge and needs a certain amount of time until the surface is completely cleaned. Nevertheless, the MEDION MD 16192 is a very good household helper for the price, the performance of which is more than satisfactory. For the MEDION MD 16192 you can give a clear purchase recommendation without any problems. It cleans both tiles and parquet or carpets very thoroughly.
