ILIFE v5sPro

ILIFE's v5sPro definitely has Advantages but also definitely disadvantages. So he is indeed the quietest robotic vacuum in our test, but picked up little dust. If she wiping function or the golden design can convince those who are interested, will be shown after our detailed listing of the pros and cons. However, it can be anticipated that the ILIFE v5sPro is a stable vacuum robot that could have come with a little more power. The Suction power is unfortunately the second worst in our Vacuum robot test, whereas the wipe function is really convincing.

Due to the second worst suction power only the last place. All other functions, especially the wipe function, are convincing.

Patchy system and poor performance

As we have learned from the other models, criticism, whether in terms of suction power or the system of implementation, can be coped with. If both test areas have only been weakly mastered, it can no longer be good enough for a good placement. This is largely the case with ILIFE's v5sPro. Although the robot looks good, there are deficiencies in the system as well as in the thoroughness. Even the admittedly very quiet way of working doesn't help much anymore.

Although a structure can be seen in the implementation, the ILIFE sticks to circles and lanes, but one or the other spot was not vacuumed. That's annoying, because it means he simply loses a lot of points in terms of "thoroughness". Thanks to the wipe function, at least a few points were saved. This is not quite sophisticated yet, but in the places where the v5s Pro wiped it was very clean afterwards. This is probably also due to the dust-absorbing cloth, which is attached behind the suction gap and also cleans the robot's paths. It moistens the cloth itself and is therefore very well suited for laminate and wooden floors. This definitely gives it a kind of specialty and parquet owners should find out more about this property. We will, of course, go into this further in the text.

Very quiet but also very weak

The ILIFE v5sPro did not achieve the worst suction performance in our test. Nevertheless, it could only absorb 140 grams of the 86,04 grams of test dust. That's not a competitive amount compared to the test-winning iRobot Roomba 615. Just over half are unsatisfactory.

At least it explains the long running time of the ILIFE. At two hours, it has the longest runtime per cycle in our test. It's a shame that thoroughness has to suffer as a result. A 2600 mAh lithium-ion battery drives the device and is fully charged again within three hours. Despite the powerful battery, the BLCD motor is too weak to really vacuum thoroughly. It must be noted here that we record these results on a scientific level. To the naked eye, the path left by the robot is clean. All models in our test deliver satisfactory results. In order to make the differences clear, however, the choice of words sometimes has to be more drastic.
The 2 hours and the medium speed are enough for the v5sPro for about 120 square meters, which is a detachable area. In this test area, the v5sPro does well.

The volume of the ILIFE is also positive to mention. At just 58,7 decibels, the v5s Pro is significantly quieter than the competition, and that can also be a deciding factor in a purchase.

With remote

What gives the ILIFE v5s Robot a plus point is definitely the remote control that is included in the scope of delivery. The robot can be controlled very well with it and a timer can also be set. As a result, the software is satisfactory and the operation is very good.

Changing between the suction container and the water tank takes some getting used to. Although the ILIFE v5s Pro has a world first on its side with wiping, it can only do one thing per cycle. You either use the 300 ml water tank for wiping, or the suction container. The wipe function works very well on smooth surfaces. The suction function, on the other hand, is unfortunately a bit weak, which means that animal hair can sometimes become a problem.

All in all, the remote control makes it easy to set the modes (wiping/vacuuming) and the installation is also very simple. After the charging station is connected and the vacuum cleaner has been calibrated, you can start right away.

Actually not bad...

After this insight, the question arises why the innovative ILIFE v5sPro finished as the worst vacuum robot in 2017. This is purely due to the poor suction power in our test. The weak engine and the implementation system, which unfortunately did not clean up small areas of our test scenario, are the most significant criteria. The function as a wiping robot and vacuum cleaner in one, the sending of a remote control and the timeless design with the golden top are definitely plus points. However, the upper side was scratched the first time it was cleaned. Household items should not have glossy lacquer finishes.

The price-performance ratio is also very good for the quality of workmanship supplied. Therefore, the ILIFE v5sPro is not a bad vacuum robot, but it lost to the competition in the important test areas. If you value quiet, long-lasting vacuuming and also no longer want to wipe smooth floors, you can definitely try the ILIFE v5s Pro. It certainly won't disappoint, even though other vacuum robots in our test performed better.
