A manufacturer of professional gaming chairs, which is enjoying increasing popularity in this country, is the Polish company Quersus, which is now also quite actively represented in the eGaming scene. We have taken on the ICOS EDITION ONE gaming chair from this manufacturer and will tell you in our following test report whether the investment of around 580 euros is worth it.

Design

At first glance, the Quersus ICOS EDITION ONE makes a very high-quality and robust impression. Since this chair is of course not assembled, but delivered in several individual parts, you can examine the individual components perfectly and check their quality. During the first assessment, we didn't notice anything negative, all individual parts were able to convince with a positive overall impression.

We also liked the fact that the upholstery of the seat now comes with clean seams - that was not the case with the previous model and quickly caused frustration among many buyers in view of the high purchase price.

To be fair, it has to be said at this point that the smell has completely disappeared after a few hours. If possible, simply place the individual parts of the chair on the floor after removing them from the box, open the window and leave the room.

The assembly

The assembly of the Quersus ICOS EDITION ONE is not too difficult, because thanks to the enclosed assembly instructions this is actually only a routine task. However, if you have never assembled a gaming or desk chair before, it will probably take a little longer to assemble.

The fact that the manufacturer has included high-quality tools with its chair, so that you don't have to buy an Allen key and other tools in the hardware store, should be positively emphasized here.

On the other hand, we didn't like the fact that one of the drill holes had no thread and perfect assembly was therefore not possible. Of course, it's difficult for us to judge whether this is a one-off error in production or whether this defect occurs more frequently. However, the fact is: From a gaming chair that costs almost 600 euros, you should be able to expect that such errors will not even appear in the first place.

Otherwise, the assembly of the chair went smoothly and we were able to sit down after a good half hour.

The special features of the Quersus ICOS EDITION ONE

The Quersus ICOS EDITION ONE comes with a unique and patented design, which is pretty to look at and is predestined for use in gaming rooms as well as in the office. Unlike many other chairs that are based on a steel construction, this model is made of plastic, which means it is significantly lighter in weight. 

Quersus promises that this construction will not tear or break even under very high loads. Unfortunately, we were not able to check this within our limited gaming chair test, but the manufacturers usually only use plastic for one reason: to save money. Nevertheless, we would like to emphasize once again that the workmanship of the chair is quite convincing.

In order to adapt perfectly to its user, the Quersus ICOS EDITION ONE naturally has several useful customization options. You can adjust the height of the chair to your personal preferences in no time at all or fold the backrest backwards to a maximum angle of 140° - ideal for a short break between individual levels.

In addition, the distance between the seat and the backrest can be individually adjusted and the headrest can also be adjusted upwards by up to 7 cm if desired. As befits a modern gaming chair, the armrests used are also a 4D construction that can not only be individually adjusted, but is also equipped with pleasantly soft padding. In contrast to other gaming and office chairs, which are often equipped with heavy castors, the Quersus ICOS EDITION ONE comes with particularly smooth-running castors that, thanks to a special polyurethane coating, do not leave any unsightly marks on carpets.

The imprint of the manufacturer and the product name is quite large, as it takes up almost the entire seat. You can like that, but you don't have to. Incidentally, if necessary, you can have the headrest personalized according to your personal taste - for example with a graphic and your name. There are a total of 20 different colors, 20 popular fonts and a variety of cool graphics to choose from.

Seating comfort

The Quersus ICOS EDITION ONE is available in two different fabric compositions: The customer can choose between breathable fabric + synthetic suede + synthetic leather (SWF variant) or synthetic leather + synthetic suede (UHL variant). High-quality QR cold foam is used for the filling of the chair, which has a filling density of 55 kg / m3.

In our opinion, the gaming chair has excellent seating comfort that lasts for several hours and is therefore of course perfectly aimed at gamers who sit in front of the PC for hours. Both the seat and the backrest also come with an anatomical shape that has optimal ergonomics.

Both areas nestle comfortably against the body, as you would expect from a good gaming chair. In addition, there is a special shape of the seat in the hollow of the knees, which ensures better blood circulation in the legs. On the other hand, a sharp edge was noticed negatively, which is also present in the area of ​​the seat and rubbed quite unpleasantly on the leg in our test.

And finally ...

The Quersus ICOS EDITION ONE was able to convince us in our test, but unfortunately has some rather annoying weaknesses. The missing drill hole thread on our test model and an unsightly sharp edge that rubs on the leg are particularly noteworthy. In addition, this chair is only suitable for taller people from a height of 1,80 m, so that some gamers may have their problems with it.

Since we already had better chairs at a similar price in previous gaming chair tests, including from back force and Secretlab, unfortunately only one is enough for the Quersus ICOS EDITION ONE 3 as final grade. You can comfortably use the gaming chair on the manufacturer's website order.
