Studio headphones at an entry-level price
In our gaming headset comparison, we show you the best headphones in the industry. However, the Beyerdynamic DT990 are inexpensive headphones for professionals. No gamer flair, no gamer design. The processing is therefore of high quality. The headband is made of leather, the brackets and the outer shell of the headphones are made of metal. The inlay of the headphones is made of comfortable velor.
While most gaming headphones are closed to block outside noise dam the Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro, just like the Audio-Technica, are open. This improves the spatial sound and also makes the DT990 Pro interesting for gamers. The size adjustment is precise but stiff. At 304 grams, the Beyerdynamic DT990 are also heavier than many of the headsets tested. The weight hardly bothers you, even during longer sessions. The 3 meter cable of the headphones is coiled. This saves the user from tangled cables while maintaining flexibility.
Sound at a high level
The DT990 from Beyerdynamic are characterized by a very balanced sound. They are built more for monitoring purposes and therefore reproduce music and sound very lifelike. Depending on the strength of the used sound card the 600 ohm version of the headphones we use as a DT990 variant is also an option. For normal users, however, we recommend the linked standard version with 250 ohms as the DT990 Pro.
Great quality at a reasonable price
My anecdote regarding the Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro remains the same. With these headphones, I was able to hear details in songs I'd been listening to on repeat for years. The headphones are just as suitable for gaming as designated gaming headsets. A great alternative in combination with the MODMIC.
