LinkedIn - professional social network and the place that you have recently also for brand new information about the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti visits. Because not on a predestined page for leaks, but in a job posting from NVIDIA the new graphics card was recently mentioned. Whether this was a mistake, pure intention or simply a necessity is impossible to say. As a result of the first big wave of attention, however, the job advertisement was removed from the portal. But the rumors have been around for a long time, as fans of the series have long expected a performance filler between the GTX 1080 and the Titan X.
Benefits for previous owners?
Specifically, the job advertisement in question was about exemplary descriptions of possible sales promotion measures. Among other things, there was talk of a special offer for owners of the GTX 980 Ti who pre-order the GTX 1080 Ti. The proven loyalty to Nvidia should be rewarded either through priority in the order sequence or even through a separate offer. How high this is cannot yet be estimated.
Since the GTX 1080 Ti has now been officially mentioned, it is associated with the following data with a high degree of certainty, which could be read from a transport list that has emerged. The graphics card listed there has 10GB of memory and is - who would have thought it - right in the middle of the GTX 1080 and the Titan X. Although the specs on the list cannot be assigned to a specific product name, the assumption of the GTX 1080 Ti is obvious.
As far as the transistor count is concerned, the bridge model should be in no way inferior to the Titan X, which also has 12 billion transistors. Much more and above all confirmed is not yet known about the performance of the GTX 1080 Ti, too many variables remain open.
Always one step ahead
If Nvidia sticks to the approach of the past, then the release of the GTX 1080 Ti should be ahead of the competition AMD. To the chagrin of some wallets, the 1080 Ti will probably gallop away from the main competitor on the price scale, because the premium graphics card from Nvidia will probably settle in the upper price segment. Although no specific prices have been published yet, price-conscious gamers are more likely to choose the AMD RX 490. The first house number visible from the leak of the transport list for the possible price of the premium graphics card is 68.276 rupees, i.e. approx. 960€. However, this describes the value of the package and not the actual price.
So some patience is still required, at least until the upcoming presentation opportunity in the form of CES 2017 or even the next leak.
