Windows opted for a new marching rod with the introduction of Windows 10. The software giant doesn't want to know anything about Windows 11 and tries to do so through continuous updates Windows 10 to keep up to date. For this reason, after the "Anniversary Update" (Redstone 1), work continued directly on the new "Creators Update" (Redstone 2). It should be ready in spring 2017. And according to the name, what the new update is supposed to give is tied to high hopes.
Build number 15000
The beta versions that are currently being tested were released with build number 15000. This numbering speaks for the expectations that Windows has in the update, because the jump from the current Windows 10 (build number 14393) is intended to mark major "milestones". As the name implies, the update is intended to let the user become more creative. And for that a retreaded Microsoft Paint worries. It should be possible to create detailed 3D animations without the program losing its simplicity. The results should be printable directly via a 3D printer, but can also be sent directly to a corresponding printer via a special provider.
"Windows as a service"
Cortana, Microsoft's AI, will in future also accept commands to turn off the PC or adjust the volume, and a new footer will be equipped with the most popular contacts. The update itself will not only focus on the software renewal, voices will also be raised again about "Surface Phone" and "Continuum". The Redstone 2 update is intended to support Microsoft's manageable success on the mobile market right from the start and the project Smartphone or similar portable devices. Microsoft will stick to the "Windows as a service" strategy and release one of two major software overhauls planned for 2017 with the Creators Update.
The update has so far been viewed positively on the Internet, even if Windows is not reinvented. But after the competition from Apple, Microsoft is now trying to offer more and to become easier to use.
