New information about the Pixel 2

Google Pixel 2 render

The second version of the Google Pixel is scheduled to appear this fall. Well there is first render images and information to the next Android flagship. Among other things, that should Smartphone receive a pressure-sensitive frame.

Google is approaching the mainstream

The smartphone year so far has given us two main trends. 18:9 resolutions and frameless displays. According to current information, Google will also be guided by this and the design of the new Pixel 2 will be close to that of the Galaxy S8 and LG G6. A few months ago it was reported that Google even offered an investment in LG to get the displays needed for the new design by the end of the year. The display should remain in the WQHD segment, i.e. 2.880 x 1.440 pixels thanks to the new aspect ratio. The fingerprint sensor should slide down a bit compared to the previous model and no longer be on the decorative strip on the upper back. Instead of a dual camera, a lens that is now much larger should be used. The Pixel 2 is to be powered by a Snapdragon 835 and four gigabytes RAM

The frame does it

The HTC U11 showed the way, and Google is said to be following suit. Apps can be opened and actions can be carried out with a pressure-sensitive frame. This works well with HTC, but could become really interesting with a more fundamental implementation in Android by Google. The only question is whether the Californians find the technology interesting enough to make it an almost mandatory standard. After all, Google's Nexus and Pixel series have always been a kind of demonstration of how Android should work. So overall, the Pixel 2 looks promising and interesting. But one small thing is still open: will we get stereo front speakers like the Nexus 6P again? Different sources are currently giving different answers. But the fact is that many Pixel users would like to go back to it, including me by the way.

The Pixel 2 lineup is expected to be presented in October. Bad news must be allowed, the price of the new model should exceed its predecessor again. Since the first pixel wasn't exactly cheap to buy, a lot could come to our wallets.
