Cinema highlights 2021

The 2021 cinema year again has a number of top-class films in store. After many productions could not take place as planned in 2020 and many cinema releases were postponed, we can expect some highlights again this year. Whether blockbuster, independent or film project, these are the highlights of 2021: 


James Bond 007: No Time to Die

The 25th Bond film flickers from September 30, 2021 over the canvases. “James Bond 007: No Time To Die” was directed by Cary Joji Fukanaga. At the beginning, James Bond is no longer on duty and wants to enjoy his well-deserved retirement. But after a scientist is kidnapped, it's clear that only 007 can save him. After a short time, however, Bond realizes that there is something much bigger behind the kidnapping. 

It's probably the last time we'll see Daniel Craig as James Bond. Also returning are Lea Seydoux as Madeleine Swann and Ralph Fiennes as M. Rami Malek plays the Bond villain this time. 

If you want to get an impression of the film, you should go opinions on films read through. Benefit from the expertise of the cinema critics so that you know in advance which film is worthwhile.  


Ghostbusters: Legacy

"Legacy" is already the fourth part of the Ghostbusters series and we get to see many old acquaintances again, who impressively prove that ghost hunting is not easily forgotten.

Trevor and Phoebe discover unusual devices and weapons in their grandfather's belongings. Her teacher then quickly suspects that her grandfather was a member of the Ghostbusters. A mystical threat soon develops in the city's underground, which involves the siblings in a special adventure. 

The lead roles, Phoebe and Trevor, are played by Mckenna Grace and Finn Wolfhard. In addition, there are also some greats like Bill Murray, Sigourney Weaver and Dan Aykroyd. Theatrical release is November 11, 2021.


finch (bios)

“Finch” deals with the very topical issues: Artificial intelligence and humanity. It's a post-apocalyptic film in which a dying inventor builds a robot to take care of his dog when he dies. The robot learns what it means to be human. 

The inventor is played by Tom Hanks and the robot by Caleb Landry Jones. From August 19, 2021 we can see the production in the cinema. 


Dune,

Dune is based on the book series of the same name by Frank Herbert. The setting consists of countless political power games and different worlds of an empire. In the midst of this, Paul Atreides appears. In order for the galaxy to function, the raw material Spice is required. However, this is only available on the desert planet Dune. However, it is dangerous there and the raw material itself is valuable and therefore sought after. For this, Paul leaves his old life and embarks on a spectacular journey.

Dune has a top-class cast, so in addition to Timothee Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson and Josh Brolin, Hans Zimmer was also able to play the music. The official cinema release is September 16, 2021.


The Father

Florian Zeller filmed with “The Father” his own and very successful play “Le pere” (Father). The main focus is the relationship between an old man and his daughter. Andre is ill and is becoming more and more dependent as a result, but would like to continue to live independently. Anne is therefore in despair and increasingly has to ignore her father's will. 

The father is played by Anthony Hopkins and Theatrical release is August 26, 2021.


Snake Eyes: GI Joe Origins

About eight years after the second film, the third part of the GI Joe series is now coming to the cinemas. Snake Eye saves the life of an heir to the throne of the Japanese Arashikage clan and was therefore accepted into the well-known clan. There he is offered a home and learns the art of the ninja. 

Theatrical release is August 19, 2021 and starring Henry Golding, Samara Weaving and Andrew Joji, among others.
