Hello, here we are! – How new startups can draw attention to themselves

Today, nothing is possible without the Internet. We use it to search for information, to present ourselves and to exchange contacts. Having your own website is therefore probably the best way to draw attention to yourself and reach a broad target audience. In particular, self-employed people or young startups benefit from their own website.

Surely a website is expensive? No she is not. There are various providers on the Internet where you can create your own website for free can leave.

Own webpages are the figurehead of every company. In particular in technical area you won't get very far without a representation on the internet. But there are other ways and means of attracting attention as a young startup.

Ways and means to make yourself known as a startup

Distribute flyers and business cards

Back to the roots. The Internet is THE medium par excellence, but you shouldn't completely ignore other ways. As a startup, it is an advantage if you also tinker with flyers and business cards in addition to the website. These can easily be distributed at meetings, trade fairs and/or events. Flyers and business cards can also be used to address a very large target audience and draw attention to yourself.

Use banners and posters

Even as a startup you should think big. Big as in… banners and posters. The targeted use of advertising is the be-all and end-all. If you advertise your startup on posters and banners and put them up in the city or in front of your own shop, you will definitely get the attention of the masses. Sometimes you can't ignore that.

show presence

As a young startup, you have to shake a lot of hands, show your presence and draw the public's attention to yourself. A stand at the relevant trade fairs and events brings the desired attention. Events for young companies take place several times a year, where interested parties can find out about the concept and make contacts.

Participate in competitions

As a young startup, you should leave no stone unturned. Participation in special competitions for founders and start-ups is also an interesting option. The prize money is a nice incentive, but for many it is only of secondary importance. Participation, or even a win, looks good on the résumé of the still fresh company.

Advertise on social media

Young founders sometimes understand their target audience better than long-established bosses. You are young, dynamic and determined. The people like that. And this is exactly what founders or startups should take advantage of. They should incorporate their likeability into their promotional strategies. Of course, this advertising should also be seen and heard. Radio is all well and good, but only reaches a few potential customers. In today's age it is much more effective to rely on social media. Facebook, Instagram or other such channels are used by millions of people every day. The range is enormous. The advertising itself should then spread the young and fresh message of the startup and be aimed specifically at the appropriate target audience.

mix it baby

Of course, startups don't just use one or the other means to increase their brand awareness. It's all in the mix. Depending on the goal, they can use different methods to attract the attention of the target group. It is only important that the measures are not overloaded and correspond to the basic concept of the start-up.

Conclusion

Life is not easy as a young startup or as a young founder. You have to attract the attention of the target group and gain a foothold in the industry. Various ways and means are available for this. However, the startup must know for itself which horse it wants to bet on.
