On March 29th, the time has finally come – Samsung presents the new flagship, the Galaxy S8. After the Note 7 debacle, there is a lot at stake for the Koreans. How show first benchmarks and new leaks the S8 should at least convince from a purely technical point of view.
More info at the end of March
On March 1st, well-known journalist Evan Blass dropped the bombshell and most likely unveiled the new Galaxy S8. As with the LG G6, the first product photo of the new Samsung flagship also shows rounded corners at the edge of the screen. According to Blass, the Galaxy S8 will appear again in two different versions. Last year's Edge version was replaced by the S8+, which at 6,1 inches is said to be even larger than the S8 at 5,6 inches. However, both versions rely on the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 835. According to the media, Samsung has a kind of exclusive contract for the first batches of the new high-end processor.
Convince benchmarks
A new leak now shows the single and multi-core score of a Geekbench run of the S8. The values should be 1916 and 6011, well above the values of the previous model S7 which were 1787 and 5211. So the S8 and the new Snapdragon should bring a decent increase in performance.
So the new S8 is bigger and more powerful. The new design is also convincing. Most impressive might be the new iris scan feature.
