The Best Ever

The best of all time has often been shaped by athletes lately. Tennis star Roger Federer, golfer Tiger Woods and boxer Muhammad Ali are awarded the title "GOAT" - "The Greatest Of All Time"! Now this term is jumping into other sectors and punctually Premiere of the new Star Wars film he too gets the praise that lifts him to heaven. Without spoilers, we've compiled the reviews of the first viewers and record why the new Star Wars potential can become the best space adventure of all time.

Rey, Finn, Luke

Already in Star Wars 7, "The Force Awakens", skeptics were convinced of Disney's takeover of the well-known film series. Director JJ Abrams struck a chord with the fans and didn't delve too deeply into his bag of tricks. The main character, Daisy Ridley, or Rey for short, is reminiscent of the young Anakin Skywalker. Within the film, she discovers her Jedi powers and the resistance rises against villain Kylo Ren. This also shows a very clear resemblance. Again it's the association with Anakin Skywalker, but this time as Darth Vader. So Disney did exactly what nobody would have thought they could do: They let Star Wars be Star Wars. Not a lofty plot that tried to surpass all six parts before it, but with a strong reference to Episode 4, "A New Hope", satisfying all Star Wars fans. Even if some critics saw a copy of the fourth episode, the seventh part has made the eighth incredible. Why? Because there is speculation about a return of Darth Vader, because at the end of Movie 7 Luke Skywalker reappears and because everyone is wondering what Chewbacca will do without Han Solo.

So the takeover of Disney was a success. Rey will reinvigorate the Resistance as a female Jedi, and defector Finn has found his faith in good again and is now battling his former employer and commander, Kylo Ren. So far so good. But what makes the new Star Wars so awesome?

It starts on December 14th

There's something else special about Star Wars 8, "The Last Jedi". Unlike the other episodes, the German premiere precedes the US premiere. on December 14, the Jedi Knights will be back on the screens of German cinemas, while American cinemas will have to wait another day. But a few critics have already been allowed to see the film. The reviews were outstanding. Even if that doesn't reflect the large crowd, it seems to increase the anticipation all the more. IGN Entertainment's Joshua Yehl writes of "perhaps the best Star Wars film of all time"! And the critics Erik Davis and Germain Lussier also agree. "The best Star Wars since the Empire," said Davis. “Star Wars: The Last Jedi is everything. Intense, funny, emotional, exciting. I'm still shaking!” Lussier said. That sounds promising. Scott Chitwood summed it up a bit more succinctly, thanking director Rian Johnson for taking certain risks along the way. According to Chitwood, these have been a complete success. The director from the USA is largely only known for the film "Looper" with Bruce Willis.

So before further Twitter quotes are taken up, a short summary: enormously surprising, tense, breathtaking, overwhelming! And definitely not as expected! That sounds like a really good movie, in the words of Luke Skywalker: "This is not going to go the way you think."

We are excited for Star Wars VIII: The Last Jedi! It starts on Thursday!
