Burger King is launching an interesting campaign with the "BURGERCLAN" campaign. With the look at gamers, who don't want to interrupt their session, Burger King makes it possible Orders from Playstation. We report on what exactly the fast food restaurant's new advertising campaign is all about.
The ultimate anti-diet
It is no secret that Burger King offers a delivery option and is thus a few steps ahead of its competitor McDonalds – at least in Germany. But order from the Playstation? Do you feel Spanish? It is. Because the catch of the whole action is that the campaign takes place exclusively in Spain. In Germany or any other country, very little happens when you sit in front of your Playstation and desperately try to organize something edible.
But how exactly does the ordering process work? Prerequisite for an order is the registration with the PSN ID at Burger King.
Once you have completed this, you will not find an integrated Burger King order option in the PSN store. On the contrary: No special software is required to implement this campaign. Because this job is done - believe it or not - by pro gamers.
More interactive than expected
Just like a drive-through employee, the pro gamers take the order via headset. Except that the drive through is probably more in the form of a virtual battlefield. Compatible games are currently only "Grand Theft Auto V", "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" and "FIFA 17". In general, however, the procedure seems to be a bit cumbersome, the gamers have limited capacities and accordingly the possibility of "in-game orders" only exists on weekends. The BURGER CLAN feels like a damn good idea that wasn't thought through to the end to make it suitable for the masses. An actual order option via the PSN Store, for example, would certainly have been a suitable addition to the actual, interactive part of the campaign.
Nevertheless, it is certainly a successful campaign and any criticism is most likely only due to the envy that is growing in us that we cannot gamble with pro gamers of our choice and at the same time be able to order burgers. Below is the official video for the campaign.
