Bosch ensures safety

Bosch security camera

Most of you probably associate the company “Bosch”. Washing machines, irons and extractor hoods. But the household appliance manufacturer is adapting to modern times and is now also providing another useful household item with a 360-degree indoor camera. Useful in that it records your home when you are not at home. However, the monitor lacks a few useful features. What the "Bosch Smart Home 360“, how she is doing in the room and what could be improved you can find out in the following report.

getting used to

The Smart Home 360 convinces with a slim, "interior-friendly" design that is hardly noticeable when placed correctly. However, the slim appearance also ensures a very high center of gravity, which sometimes causes the camera to tip over. So you should fix them. The function is great, by tapping the lens in the Housing let go, similar to a turtle. This ensures that the camera will not record with 100 percent certainty and your guests will not feel unnecessarily irritated by this.

The function is clever, because you have to get used to the camera first. The lens is tuned to follow movement. For example, if you go from the living room to the bathroom with the camera running, the small eye of the Bosch Smart Home 360 will follow you at every turn. A sensible idea against burglars.

Easy to use via app

If you feel disturbed by following the lens, you can simply switch off the function via the corresponding app. The application is generally successful, so the camera can be set individually and at the same time sends direct push notifications should something happen at home. In addition, the clips are stored in the in-house cloud for up to 15 days if they have not already been downloaded. Live transmissions are also possible and up to 10 cell phones can be connected. Both of these features are successful.

Nevertheless, some useful functions are missing. According to Bosch, the camera will be linked to the smart home app this fall. This would include a geofencing function that currently does not work with the camera. The camera could thus be switched on automatically when the connected cell phone moves away from a certain radius (and switch off again accordingly when it is inside). At the moment only push notifications can be blocked.

250€ still make the gadget a reasonable device for optimizing security. One or two useful options should be added for the price and then the Bosch Smart Home 360 is a real added value for every home. With the update in the fall, she seems ready for anything.
