Ariana and Valerie join the Razer family

Razer Valerie

Razer is known for publishing its in-house projects under female first names. The Americans are currently working on the projects "Ariana" and "Valerie", which are to be transformed into a salable end product in the near future. Min Liang-Tan, head of the computer accessories manufacturer, can easily fill his stand at the "Consumer Electronics Show 2017" like every year.

Project "Valerie"

The reason for this is the idea of project "Valerie", a Laptop Gaming the one facing the keyboard and the one integrated on the right Mousepad looks a lot like the Razer Blade Pro. While a good MacBook alternative was created with the Razer Stealth, "Valerie" is now supposed to combine these two achievements and also offers a sensational world first. Because there is not just one 4K UHD panel with Igzo transistor technology for one screen. No, there are a whopping three of them. The two additional screens are then folded to the right and left of the center screen. "Valerie" is therefore convincing, even if it is only in the planning stage, with an unbelievable 11.520 x 2.160 pixels, i.e. around 25 million pixels.

"The World's First Automated Triple Display Laptop"

Thus, Razer itself advertises that it manufactured the first "portable laptop" with three built-in screens. Since probably no other company seems to have seriously thought about it so far, this statement is also completely truthful. But as I said, it's not just the three screens that the laptop is supposed to impress with. The equipment is also a sign of quality, with the NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1080 inside GPU for a strong graphic implementation. However, the battery and the processor have not yet been officially commented on. In order to orientate oneself on the Blade Pro, the most powerful battery that is still allowed on a normal cross-country flight is already installed there. So it probably can't be increased that much. And as a true gaming laptop, the Blade Pro already has a comparatively short runtime of less than five hours. It is therefore not yet clear how the problem is caused with three 4k screens. The processor also has to work fast in order to optimally support the NVIDIA Surround View. With the 2.6GHz Intel Core i7-6700HQ, this should also be possible in the new triple display model. We are of course looking forward to more detailed information such as the release date and will keep you posted!

Project "Ariana"

The development of the “Ariana” light projector is also innovative. For this purpose, Razer has released the proprietary "Chroma" lighting technology so that other companies can also work with the technology. In a collaboration with Lian Li (DeskHousing) and Philips (Hue lamps), the first implementations with an RGB color spectrum could be designed. The result is a 1080 pixel projector that combines RGB lighting effects and spatial projection. Equipped with a 155-degree fisheye lens and two depth cameras, the projector can expand the TV image into the entire room after integrated calibration. So far, this has only been possible with specially designed games like Shadow Warrior 2. Ariana should be available for purchase by the end of 2017 or early 2018, consuming little power and being easy to install. However, Razer has not yet been able to get a price out of it, and an estimate is also difficult so far. An exciting concept that can be popular, but Razer is still waiting for the plans regarding introduction and precise implementation.
