The NVIDIA homepage has been showing a countdown for about six days until Wednesday, 29.02.2017/XNUMX/XNUMX. is expected the presentation of the new GTX 108oTi after the same was surprisingly not announced at this year's CES. It remains to be seen whether NVIDIA will manage the balancing act between more performance, also relevant in view of the new AMD cards, and respect for the investment made by buyers of a TITAN XP.
980Ti disappointed enthusiasts
The new GTX 1080Ti is to be presented on Wednesday night, marking the end of the Pascal series from the American manufacturer NVIDIA. The new high-end card is said to be in production and will be released between March 20th and 23rd. The outcry was great when NVIDIA announced the 2015Ti in mid-980. On a par with the TITAN X, the Californian flagship at the time, and at the same time significantly cheaper. The enthusiasts felt alienated. This year the topic will probably be approached with a little more reverence. The 1080Ti should "only" get 10 GB of VRAM, while its big brother has 12. The assumed specifications in comparison to the TITAN XP and the more sensible GTX 1080 can be found in the overview:

1080Ti going strong
The numbers show that the 1080Ti will fit in between the TITAN XP and the 1080. Compared to the XP, the probably much lower price is particularly striking. It is even suspected that the 1080Ti could be faster than the current top model due to higher clock rates. The smaller memory is hardly important for normal gaming, the 2GB could only be used for high-resolution surround setups. Content creators can also benefit from the additional CUDA cores, which accelerate video editing, for example. Interesting, by the way: The TITAN XP is currently sold out in the NVIDIA shop. That could perhaps be an indication that the tech giant has already fully switched to the 1080Ti. In any case, we are excited and will follow the performance.
