Design and workmanship
The Backforce One gaming chair looks like any other gaming chair, at least at first glance - which is why one is almost a bit afraid that the same applies to the build quality. Unfortunately, we are used to the fact that tempting-sounding bargain chairs from China happily wobble and the built-in components reach their limits after a short time. Fortunately, this is not the case with the Backforce One gaming chair, because the chair makes a really solid and robust impression when you take the individual parts required for assembly out of the box.
At the latest when you look at the backrest of the chair, it becomes clear that Interstuhl is not just copying the chairs that are already on the market, but is quite willing to go its own way. In contrast to almost all other models, in which the backrest consists of a metal frame, the German manufacturer uses a special wooden shell with the associated reinforcements, which incidentally extends into the seating area. In this way, not only is very good seating comfort achieved, but also optimal stability - the "chafing through" of the seat upholstery known from many cheaper chairs is therefore a thing of the past. Here, for the first time, it pays off that Interstuhl developed the Backforce One in close cooperation with professional e-sports professionals - after all, they know exactly what is really important in a good gaming chair. All the other components of the chair, which of course also include the gas pressure spring, make a very high-quality impression on us. In addition, the stand is not made of cheap plastic, but very robust processed aluminum and thus also ensures an optimal stand.
Once the chair has been fully assembled (this is easily possible with the enclosed assembly instructions), the attractive design of the Backforce One immediately catches the eye. For the cover, the manufacturer has opted for a mixture of Alcantara and imitation leather, which is not only very pretty look, but also prevents heavy sweating.On the back, however, the chair has a plastic cover, which even has a built-in Lighting has. This can be easily supplied with energy via a USB connection and then shines for around 20 hours. The special highlight: You can attach your own logo here and thus ensure envious looks at gamer parties or invited friends. Two patches attached to the neck area provide additional customization: They can be attached with Velcro and printed with your own name, the name of your e-sports team or any other desired lettering. For an additional charge of around 10 euros, this is certainly a nice gimmick.
All in all, there is nothing to complain about in terms of the design and the processing quality of the Backforce One, since the individual seams are also processed absolutely cleanly. So it pays off that the gaming chair is lovingly handcrafted in Germany and not cheaply made in China.

The special features of the Backforce One
What special features the Backforce One has to offer in addition to the high-quality materials and the backlighting will become clear at the latest when you try it for the first time. Anyone who has already sat in one or the other inexpensive gaming chair will certainly know that the attached armrests are often very rickety - which can be extremely annoying during long gaming sessions. This problem does not exist with the Backforce One, because the armrests are also excellently processed and sit exactly where they should be. In addition, the backrests are adjustable in height, which makes it easier to adapt them to the Desk can be adjusted – the maximum height is a good 80 cm. What is particularly cool, however, is that you can fold both armrests completely backwards if you wish. Hardly any other gaming chair currently offers such a function, so Interstuhl has really thought about it to offer the buyer the best possible comfort. With the backrests folded back, you can get out of the chair much faster and more comfortably because you don't have to push it backwards to have enough space. Alternatively, the chair can also be used as a simple office chair without armrests, in order to be able to get particularly close to the desk. If you want to treat yourself to a short meal break between a gaming session, you will also love the foldable armrests, as it is much easier to hold a pizza box in your hands without them.
with regard to the armrests, however, that these can only be adjusted in height and not sideways - which means that the Backforce One is not 4D, but only 1D. As a potential buyer, you have to ask yourself which of the two advantages you really classify as necessary and useful in everyday gaming.
On the other hand, there is a plus point for the fact that the Backforce One can of course be adjusted in height, so that it is suitable for both smaller and larger gamers. By the way: The chair can be loaded with a weight of up to 130 kg, so it is definitely not only designed for slim gamers.
ergonomics and comfort
To get straight to the point: The Backforce One gaming chair impresses with its very good seating comfort, which is thanks in part to the special multi-zone upholstery with different degrees of hardness. While the part of the chair covered with artificial leather is rather hard, the actual seating area is pleasantly soft and thus ensures a comfortable sitting experience for several hours. What is striking, however, is that the Backforce One, despite its high purchase price, has hardly any real highlights in the field of ergonomics: Unfortunately, you will not only look in vain for a lumbar pillow, but also for an additional neck pillow in this model. While many gaming fans can certainly do without the lumbar pillow, the lack of a neck pillow is much more annoying - especially during very long gaming sessions. On the other hand, we liked the fact that the Backforce One is not equipped with a classic rocker function, but instead with a much more ergonomic synchro-mechanism. This has the advantage that the body hardly swings when the backrest tilts backwards, since the actual seat remains almost completely in its position - this also relieves the player's back. How strong the synchro-mechanism should appear can ideally be adjusted very easily using a small wheel. The owner can decide for himself how easily the backrest gives backwards - or simply adjust it to his preferred position. It's a pity, however: A real lying position, as known from other gaming chairs, cannot be set on the Backforce One.

Our conclusion:
The Backforce One gaming chair convinced us across the board in our test. It convinces with a very good seating comfort and not only has an extremely high quality of workmanship, but also a very attractive design - here the buyer can choose from several attractive color combinations.
The chair has other important plus points thanks to its synchronous mechanism, its height adjustability and the armrests, which are also height-adjustable and can also be folded back completely for greater flexibility of movement.
In terms of ergonomics, on the other hand, we would have liked a little more equipment for our money, because unfortunately a lordosis cushion is not part of the scope of delivery, nor is an additional neck cushion. The cozy gamer chair, on the other hand, secures creative plus points with its built-in battery lighting on the back and the customizable patches in the shoulder area. With a purchase price of around 500 euros, the Backforce One is quite expensive to buy - which is partly due to the manual production in Germany. But if you have the wherewithal to spare, you're guaranteed to get your money's worth with this outstanding premium chair.
