How we test – via our test setup

Adapted to the product
Before we even unpack the devices, we think carefully about what type of product it is. We determine which criteria are useful for the test series and design a weighting. This means that the different criteria of importance are ordered and evaluated. You will find this order behind the individual criteria in the conclusions. For example, we rate "sucking" with the suction robots with 30% a third higher than workmanship & design.
For example, the final score is calculated as follows:
- Suck (30%)= 5 stars = 30×5 = 150
- Service (30%) = 4 stars = 30×4 = 120
- Battery life (20%) = 5 stars = 20×4 = 100
- Workmanship & Design (20%) = 4 stars = 20×4 = 80
= 450 divided by 5 (number of possible stars) = 90
This structure allows you to downgrade or upgrade criteria independently. For example, if you don't mind the lack of a remote control for vacuum robots, you can easily adjust the rating. We are working on a more comfortable solution for you as a feature for the site.
Independent, critical and objective
When conducting our tests, we are independent of manufacturers or sellers. If we have been provided with a device, you will find a note above the corresponding review as to how for example here. However, the ratings for the two Hauppauge devices show that we are not giving ratings away for free. We want to be the most critical platforms in the German-speaking area. We believe that many reviews from various media are far too lax. It's about showing you the best products and informing you about any problems. We don't mince our words. Ultimately, we earn our money by arranging sales. However, only if you actually keep the ordered product. From an economic point of view, it is therefore very important to us to recommend the best product. We are therefore not interested in brand names or the rating of other platforms.
