Bose Quiet Comfort 35

If you visit the Bose website, it literally screams the words "our best headphones yet". But what interests us is not whether the Bose Quiet Comfort 35 is the best headphone Bose has to offer, but whether the Quiet Comfort 35 are also the best headphones ever. At least the Bose QuietComfort has 35 a lot of media hype experience. What's up? We test it.

A beautiful, well-rounded overall concept meets high-quality Bose sound with a little room for improvement.

A pair of headphones for the eyes

Even if I like to start with the packaging and accessories at this point: Not this time!
The reason why you can quickly tick off packaging and carrying case is by no means negative, but simply this: the Bose Quiet Comfort 35 looks damn good. So good that you can quickly forget the accessories - in real life and in the review. Regardless of the color variant, the word audiophile may take on a whole new meaning for some when they see the foldable, simple headphones.

The slightly more stable, wider shape of the headband and the buttons in connection with the relatively strong padding give the Bose QuietComfort 35 a "bulky" look and convey a certain retro feeling. Of course, a lot and not least the design is largely a matter of taste, but we didn't want to withhold our enthusiasm for the simple but effective design of the Bose QuietComfort 35 from you.
After the initial euphoria about the design, the case of the Bose QuietComfort 35 should be briefly praised for the sake of completeness. This is made of no less high quality and thanks to the zipper and hard plastic shells it can actually withstand a lot - great!

The design of the Bose QuietComfort 35 not only looks good on the outside, it also has benefits. The voluminous-looking upholstery, for example, not only looks fluffy and soft, it actually is. The result? Extraordinary wearing comfort. In addition, the collapsible Bose headphones are very light and also come out on top in the Binge Watching Contest against the same-priced competition in the Kofmort segment. By the way: "Californication" is still good the third time. At the same time, the mentioned lightweight of the Bose QuietComfort 35 does not mean a lack of stability, the Quiet Comfort 35 reliably stays where it has to be, even with fast movements.

There are only 35 buttons on the right side of the Bose QuietComfort 3, which take up a lot of space. While the decision for 3 buttons makes the control a lot easier and provides a much more pleasant feel, the multifunction button of the Bose QuietComfort 35 really lives up to its name. At least a short familiarization phase is necessary for the unmistakable operation of the Bose Quiet Comfort 35. In general, Bose seems to be available in different colors Bluetooth Headset pursuing an iPhone concept: Fewer options but a well-rounded, solid user experience. This is also reflected in the noise cancelling, which is constantly switched on and cannot be deactivated. Do you need this option or not? Ultimately, it probably also depends on the context of use and personal preference.

Tip from us: If the Bose QuietComfort 35 was able to convince you in the further course of the review, pay attention to the price when buying! The price range for these Bluetooth headphones sometimes ranges from around 310 to 379 euros.

Last time on "Californication" with the QuietComfort 35

However, what you experience when you switch off the Quiet Comfort 35 is not a case of preference. The constant, light pressure that your ears are then exposed to has nothing to do with quiet and certainly nothing to do with comfort. Not cool. However, we don't want to be so strict here, since the feeling and the slight hissing are absent when the Bluetooth headphones are actually used. Lucky again, Bose.

As already mentioned, the Bose QuietComfort 35 is simply a perfect, well-rounded affair. The wireless headphones don't have any extraordinary feats, but what they can do they do excellently and flawlessly. As with Sennheiser PXC550 the connection is also possible via Bluetooth as well as with NFC support. In this regard, we only tested other Bluetooth headphones without NFC, such as the JBL E45BT, realized the enormous comfort advantage of this small feature. One contact with the handset and off you go.

However, where the Bose QuietComfort 35 weakens is the range of the connection. During the above-mentioned "Californication" marathon, which is of course extremely elementary for the test, my way to the kitchen on the first floor was accompanied by relatively strong background noise - a pity. The voice that not only shows you that the wireless headphones are connected but also which device you have connected to has a comforting effect here.

However, if you stay within more or less immediate range of the connected device, then there are no disconnections that could destroy the sound of the QuietComfort 35 - and that for a whole 20 hours. To our surprise, the battery life of the Bluetooth headphones was not embellished, you get what is promised. Bose has created a decent sound experience with the QuietComfort 35. Neat, since the sound is undoubtedly balanced and there is actually nothing to complain about. Nevertheless, it has to be mentioned that for the price of the Bose QuietComfort 35 there could have been a little more in terms of sound. However, if you are not looking for the perfect sound, but for damn good headphones with above-average noise canceling, you will be able to overlook this. If not, take a look at the Sennheiser PXC 550 or the B&W P7 Wireless.
