Obviously: every headphone is compatible

With the MODMIC, any headphone can be transformed into a headset. This means: If you already own good headphones, you can save money and simply buy the MODMIC. If you want to start from scratch, you can use the MODMIC, which is a significantly better headphone than most headsets offer. In our Gaming Headset For comparison, we recommend the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro, for example. For almost €150, the headphones sound significantly better than the competition.

The AntLion MODMIC uses magnets with adhesive surfaces for installation. These can be glued to the sides of the headphones to then attach the microphone to it. That might sound shaky, but it's not. Simply apply some pressure to the magnet and hold it in the desired position for a few seconds. Incidentally, we recommend attaching the magnet as far forward as possible so that the length of the microphone is sufficient. If there are problems here, you can simply use the second magnet or straighten the boom of the microphone.

The scope of delivery includes two magnets, adhesive pads and some cable clips to connect the cable of the MODMIC to the cable of your headphones. In addition, the AntLion MODMIC comes in a practical bag.

Good sound for little money

The MODMIC sounds really good for such a small and modular microphone. The voice is natural and with the right settings, noise is hardly an issue. At the same time, the microphone is certainly not perfect. Depending on yours sound card and the positioning of the microphone, the MODMIC can be very quiet. However, the closer you attach the device to your mouth, the more prominent the pop noises become. If you want to use the MODMIC, you have to be prepared to search for the sweet spot for a while. As mentioned above, you should be careful when attaching the magnet. By the way, we intentionally recommend version 4 of the microphone. The latest variant, V5, costs €20 more and offers no significant advantages.

Good option between Razer and Audio-Technica

We recommend the MODMIC with a headphone of your choice if you want to spend between 150€ and 200€. If Audio-Technica is too expensive, Razer Kraken isn't enough, and don't mind investing some time, this will give you the best results.
