Set mouse DPI: How it works!

Targeted action with the mouse is not that easy. Everyone knows that, the modern fast Games how Call of Duty or Battlefield 1 plays. But how can you optimize the settings of your mouse? How do you increase it hit accuracy yours mouse arm and thus increase your success? We will describe to you here, step by step, how to set your mouse optimally for your needs - here in our guide "Setting the mouse DPI".

What is the DPI actually?

The DPI value indicates how many dots per inch a mouse can see. With a Change of the DPI value you can adjust the pointer speed to your needs and your preferred speed. This allows you to perform faster and more precise moves with your mouse.
The higher the selected DPI value, the higher the sensitivity of your mouse. The higher you choose the sensitivity, the faster the mouse pointer reacts and moves when you use the mouse. Since THE BEST DPI value does not exist, you should look around for a so-called online DPI test if you are unsure on the Internet.
Here you can find the best value for your mouse model and your needs and adjust the settings accordingly. If you choose the DPI value too high, you can no longer aim and hit specific things on the screen exactly. On the other hand, if you choose the value too low, your mouse pointer will creep slowly and sluggishly across the screen.

Getting Started

First you should behavior of your mouse view in the game. Set the parameters optimally. Once you've done that, take care of the behavior of the crosshairs. Try to set this evenly in as many games as possible.
This behavior of the mouse is a starting point: if you turn the mouse by 180°, this should require the mouse to be moved as consistently as possible.
In this way you can ensure that your mouse hand and mouse arm can adjust to the required movements and that you do not have to expect a different crosshair behavior each time.
There is also a term for this: "Muscle memory", ie your muscles should get used to a mouse behavior, remember it and be able to rely on it - no matter in which game. If you practice this "exercise" in several games, it will increase your hit accuracy considerably.

Adjust the DPI of the mouse

First a piece of information: not every mouse can be Adjust DPI value. However, do you have a special gaming mouse or also wireless mouse, so you can assume that this is possible. If your mouse came with software, you will find all the important settings for the DPI number there.
If you're using a Logitech mouse, use the Logitech SetPoint, if you're using a Microsoft mouse, use the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center. You cannot name an optimal DPI value, since this is too much dependent on your own feelings and preferences.

Adjust the DPI of the mouse in Windows
