The TechniSat DIGITRADIO 584 Stereo DAB+ impresses at first glance with its stylish design, which blends perfectly into any living room or bedroom. Thanks to its rounded corners, it shines Internet radio has a modern look, but the silver front with two integrated rotary controls and four buttons also brings a touch of retro radio with it.

If you have a smartphone with the QI charging standard, it is even sufficient to place the device on top of the radio so that it is charged completely contactlessly - which is really very practical.

The TechniSat DIGITRADIO 584 Stereo DAB+ in a practical test
In the practical test, the TechniSat DIGITRADIO 584 Stereo DAB+ was convincing all along the line: Operating the device without a remote control is child's play, as you can simply use the left rotary switch to switch it on, which also functions as a push button. You simply select your desired station with the right rotary switch, and finally press the said switch to fix the selection. All other functions can also be selected or set directly via the device, so that you basically don't need the remote control at all. However, it is a bit annoying that there are only 12 station presets for radio programs. In most cases this should be sufficient, but if you frequently switch between numerous favorite channels, you will not be enthusiastic about this restriction - especially since it actually makes little sense.
In terms of sound, the TechniSat DIGITRADIO 584 can absolutely score, because the two 10 watt loudspeakers emit a surprisingly strong and clear sound, which can also be individually adjusted with the help of different sound settings - even songs with a strong bass come into their own.

The TechniSat DIGITRADIO 584 Stereo DAB+ is more versatile than almost any other Internet radio. It not only enables radio reception via DAB+, FM and Internet, but also the playback of MP3 songs via USB stick, playing CDs and streaming your favorite songs via smartphone, Tablet PC or Spotify Connect. In addition, the radio, which is also absolutely convincing in terms of optics, is equipped with a large number of additional features, including a sleep timer, an alarm function, an integrated OLED display with artist information, a charging function via USB or QI and control via Alexa voice control.
The TechniSat DIGITRADIO 584 does not show any real weaknesses, with the exception of the quite manageable station memory, only the USB connection should have been integrated on the side of the device instead of on the back for better accessibility. If you are not put off by the rather high purchase price, the TechniSat DIGITRADIO 584 is an extensively equipped Internet radio that is actually worth every cent.
