Thankfully, recovering from an accidentally formatted SD card isn't overly complicated; the success rate is high. The reason for this is that simply formatting by no means destroys all content, but only hides the paths leading to it and the occupied memory space is displayed as 'free'. To start data recovery, first connect the affected card to your computer and start the Recovery Wizard. Now select the SD card and click on 'Scan'.
An overview of all files and folders found in the selected directory will now open; the images you are looking for are usually already visible here. If you want, you can now select all files or just some of the files you want to restore. After a destination folder for the export of the photos has been selected in the following step, the data recovery can begin.
