A 3,5 inch hard drive from the manufacturer goes with the ILO chilliGREEN into the race. The Austrian manufacturer wants to use it to meet the needs of users who value a lot of storage space and good value for money. One was installed in our test device Toshiba DT01ACA300. We were allowed to test the 3TB model, but the hard drive is also available in 500GB, 1TB, 1,5TB and 2TB.

Like all hard drives from chiliGREEN, the look is initially very simple. Only the rather large printed logo catches the eye. The hard drives whose Housing made of aluminum, the packaging suggests that it is not necessarily lightweight. Unpacked, this assumption is confirmed, with approx. 1,3 kg no lightweight. Nevertheless, the ILO feels very valuable in the hand due to its high weight. The edges are all cleanly finished, no loose screws and no noise when pressing at the ends.
The stand that comes with the hard drive also allows it to be placed upright. The main advantage of this is that the vibrations are not transmitted directly to the surface, which is normally the case Table, to be passed on. However, the vibration transmission cannot be switched off completely, so that at least a slight humming can be heard when the hard drive is placed in the immediate vicinity.
There is an on/off switch on the back of the hard drive, which can be used to interrupt the power supply. If the hard disk is active, it signals this with a green LED, which flashes during operations. This is the case on both the front and the back.

Hardware
As already mentioned at the beginning, our test device had one Toshiba DT01ACA300 installed, which with a speed of RPM 7200 is working. Unfortunately, the cache size could not be read out in our test. Thanks to the USB 3.0 interface, the chiliGREEN ILO was able to achieve very good data values, as can be read under the following point. In our test, we measured a maximum temperature of 32 degrees, which is absolutely fine for a 3,5 inch hard drive under full load.
Conclusion
We really liked the chiliGREEN ILO. Above all, the price-performance ratio is above average. For about. 130 euros for the 3TB model the user gets a very good and fast 3,5 inch hard drive. So if you need a lot of space and a fast hard drive needed, we can only recommend the chiliGREEN ILO. From us therefore clear 4,5 stars!
