The case of chiliGREEN's EF253 is made from a simple, oval piece of aluminium, which we really like, even if it means the hard drive is a bit taller than others (15,9 mm). This design is intended to ensure optimal heat dissipation and thus a long service life. The surface is slightly rough and matt. This makes the hard drive look very valuable. On the front sides it is made of black, shiny plastic. As soon as you connect the hard drive, a green LED lights up continuously. When data is being read or written, it flashes. The LED appears very bright to us. For a 2,5-inch hard drive, the USB cable is quite long at around 50 cm. The USB socket on the hard drive is of type A, not the type Mico-B, as is often the case. This has the advantage that you can also use old USB cables from other devices.
We also like that the EF253 has a small black protective case supplied in a velvet look. This allows the hard drive and cable to be stowed away easily.

What is very positive here (as is the case with many other chiliGREEN hard drives) is that it comes with aPower saving function equipped so that the hard disk is switched off after a period of non-use. As soon as it is needed, it switches itself back on automatically. The read speed of 103,1 MB/s and write speed of 101,3 MB/s are very decent for a 2,5 inch hard drive. The hard drive spins at 5.400 rounds per minute.
