processing / design
The rather unusual design is immediately noticeable. The surface consists optically of small puzzle pieces, which are in the Housing are let in. the connection is on the front side, above which there is space for a small blue LED. The glowing of the LED is not disturbing during a work process and is therefore perfectly acceptable.
On the website we could see the sentence "The modular, 'smart' case offers a novel and practical way to store the data cable." find, but we could not understand the new accommodation of the data cable here. At first we thought that the case could be opened with a trick in one place, but this was not possible.
Unfortunately, our test device creaked a bit when we picked it up, which should certainly be annoying if we hold it in our hands frequently. Otherwise, the case was cleanly finished and the gap dimensions fit on all sides.
The puzzle design was also adopted on the underside of the DashDrive HV611, but small rubber knobs would have been desirable here for slip resistance.

Hardware
A 1TB was at work in our test device Toshiba MQ01ABD100 hard drive with RPM 5400 and an 8 MB buffer.
We determined a maximum temperature of 33 degrees during the test, which is consistently within the green range. With around 116 MB/s in writing and 114 MB/s in reading, the ADATA DashDrive HV611 ranks in the middle of the available 2,5 inch hard drives.
As usual, the hard disk driver is installed automatically under Windows 7 and was completed after just a few seconds, so that we external hard drive could put into operation. The access times were also hardly noticeable, the access took place immediately after clicking on the Drive in the workplace.

Conclusion
- ADATA DashDrive HV611 - hard drive - 500 GB - external ( portable ) - 6.4...
The ADATA DashDrive HV611 is a good hard drive. The look is clearly a matter of taste, but the design will certainly not appeal to everyone. However, ADATA offers enough alternatives to provide every user with a suitable device. However, the hard drive cannot quite keep up in terms of value for money. Other manufacturers offer cheaper devices with the same storage data.
All in all, however, the HV611 is a rock-solid hard disk, which is priced a bit higher than the competition, but should basically be a good choice for most users. So there is one of us buy recommendation!
