The external hard drive in a classy look with a piano lacquer finish has dimensions of 127 x 78 x 20 mm. There Housing was made of plastic. The model is available in white and black. The workmanship is of high quality and no screws are visible. The high-gloss surface has one disadvantage: the case is prone to fingerprints, smearing and scratches. We had the Intenso Memory Case in black available for our test, and after just a few minutes it had lost its streak-free shine. The LED indicator light is embedded at the lower edge of the front panel. In addition, the Intenso lettering is printed in white or gray.
Hardware
With a capacity of 2 TB, there is undoubtedly enough space for videos, photos and documents. A good 1900 GB are available ex works. The access times for reading and writing are under 21 ms. We measured the read speed at 93 MB/s and the write speed at 92 MB/s. For a hard drive with 5200 RPM and just 8 MB of cache, this is an acceptable result. An external power supply is not necessary, as the USB 3.0 connection supplies the end devices with up to 900 A.

The signal light lights up in two colors. It lights up green when connected to a USB 2.0 hub, and blue when connected to a 3.0 hub. The light is quite bright. If you use the plate to watch a film in a darkened room, you should cover it up if possible. There are no rubber nubs on the bottom, so it slides around on smooth surfaces. The included USB cable has a 3.0 plug and is 45 cm long. After a long period of use at full capacity, it reaches a temperature of 33°C. That's not too hot, but noticeably warmer than comparable products. It runs very quietly and can be used for multimedia purposes without any problems.
Conclusion
The Intenso Memory Case can undoubtedly convince with a low price. At the time of our test, the price per GB was around 5 cents. However, you have to accept a few limitations for this good price. The transfer rate and the general technical specifications are rather mediocre. The SATA hard drive has just 5200 revolutions per minute. The small cache of 8 MB is also not up to date. The data transfer rate is almost 90 MB/s in both directions, which is neither fast nor slow. The hard drive warms up quickly, but runs very quietly. If you're not in a hurry when it comes to transferring data, you're in good hands here. Those who expect speed should better keep their hands off this external hard drive.
